What is Wire Electrical Discharge Machining?
Wire EDM, also known as wire cutting is the process in which an electrode (wire) is used to cut or shape a workpiece typically a conductive material. Our Agie progress Wire EDM is capable of using a range of wire diameters (.006”-.013”). The Progress is an extremely accurate machine that has the ability to cut up to a 45 degree taper. We use wire EDM technology on complex shapes, thick parts where surface finish and accuracy is required, narrow ribs/slots, and when the workpiece is delicate, or the area of machining is weak.
